A Simple Seed

My birthday is in less than a week.  I’m gonna be 18… That’s so weird.  That means I’m officially an adult.  It also means that it’s time for me to take certain responsibilities like going to school.  So for the last few months I’ve been figuring out my plans for what I wanna do and where I wanna go and it’s come down to this:

I want to go to MCAD for filmmaking.  (If I can get the money)

HOWEVER…  Since MCAD is an art school, everyone applying needs to have an art portfolio… Even the film students…  And those of you who know me, I’m not an artist.  Haha.  I tell the camera what to do and the camera does the art for me.

And so in order to fill out my art portfolio, I went out with Cati last night to get a bunch of pictures to fill up most of the space in my portfolio.

Now I just have to do those freaking drawing requirements. :\

Well, I’m back in Minnesota.  And lemme’ tell ya, it’s good to be home.  Haha.

I spent the second half of the day with Cati and had an awesome time.  I don’t want to get all crazy sensitive on you tumblr (after all it’s only our second post), but today was a distinct reminder about why I’m dating that girl.  It’s an amazing feeling being in love with someone that’s exactly like you, and feel so close to them just when you’re riding in the car next to them.

I also just got an email from Ted Dekker’s publisher so that got me pretty excited.  I’m gonna be one of a hundred people who get a free advance copy of his new book, “Bride Collector.”  In return all I have to do is post a review on Amazon.com and at two other sites when I’m finished reading.  Sounds simple enough!

So, at the risk of not having much to post due to my uneventful life…  I’ve made a tumblr.

I’ve always been really bad at blogging, so I’m hoping that by having posts that are significantly smaller and a lot more pointless, tumblr will be more of a success than my attempts at blogspot and such.

I’m typing my first post from Des Moines, Iowa, where I’ve been for the past week.  We were supposed to leave for MN on Monday, but due to an onset of lots and lots of snow, we were stuck here for the night.  Then TODAY we woke up, ready to leave, and found that the roads to get home were still closed…  So we’re staying yet another night.

I wouldn’t really mind all that much, except I’m pretty homesick and I miss Cati like crazy.  Granted it’s only been a little over a week since I saw her last, but being 5 hours away from each other kinda makes it worse than it should be.

It also doesn’t help being bored out of my mind here, making the days feel THAT much longer.
